Mirror monday.com boards into Laya with an API token — setup steps, which columns sync, timing and current limitations.

Connecting monday.com mirrors your monday.com boards and their items into Laya as live, editable Connected boards. Your boards stay in monday.com — Laya syncs changes both ways.

Why connect monday.com

  • Mirror boards and items, whether the board tracks status with a Status column or with groups (kanban-lane style).
  • Edit most column types from Laya — status, people, dates, text, numbers, tags and more write straight back.
  • Read and post item updates (monday.com's comments) from the Laya side panel.
  • Layer monday.com boards into master boards alongside other tools.

Before you start

monday.com connects with a personal API token. The connect screen shows where to find it: "In monday.com: Profile → Developers → My access tokens, then copy your personal API token and paste it below."

Connect step by step

  1. Start the connect flowFrom your workspace, create a new board and choose the connect option — or open the Connected tab and choose Connect monday.com.
  2. Pick monday.com as the sourceOn the "Which tool is it in?" screen, choose monday.com.
  3. Connect with your API tokenOn the "Connect with an API token" card, paste your token into the API token field and select Connect. The connection is created in the workspace you started the flow from.
  4. Choose boards to mirrorTick boards in the "Choose boards to mirror" list — use search, Select all or Refresh to find them all.
  5. MirrorSelect Mirror N boards → and wait for "You're live in Laya", then Open board.

What syncs

Laya mirrors monday.com boards and their items. Item status comes from the board's Status column, or from its groups when there is no Status column. These column types are readable and editable from the Laya side panel and inline editors: text, numbers, email, phone, link, country, hour, long text, status, dropdown, date/datetime, people, tags, checkbox and timeline.

People (assignees)YesYes — replaces the whole people set on each edit

You can choose which columns drive Laya's signals: the column mapping drawer lets you pick which status, people and date column feed each one. Items imported as native Laya rows (via a master board) keep syncing a narrower set: title, status and due date push out to monday.com, and title and status flow back in. Priority, story points, assignee and issue type do not sync on imported rows.

Sync triggers and timing

  • Laya → monday.com: immediate. Edits call the monday.com API as part of the action, with per-item badges showing Queued, Syncing, Synced or Failed.
  • monday.com → Laya: on demand. Use Sync now on the board ("Synced N item(s).") or from the connection's Boards tab. Boards also refresh at mirror time.
  • Background polling. A 60-second poll exists and is controlled per connection by the Polling toggle, but it may not be enabled on every deployment — treat Sync now as the reliable way to pull fresh changes.

Managing the connection

Manage the connection from workspace Settings → integrations → monday.com: tabs Boards, Sync log and Settings, a health card ("Healthy", "Degraded" and so on, plus "Synced X ago"), + Mirror a board, the Polling toggle and Disconnect. See Managing connections.

Limitations

  • Subitems are not mirrored or imported; subitem and progress columns are hidden.
  • Priority, story points and issue type are not projected from monday.com at all.
  • No attachment sync in either direction.
  • Master-board imports from monday.com do not carry sprints (monday.com has no native sprint concept).
  • People writes are full-replace at the monday.com API level.
  • No working inbound webhook yet.
