Laya WorkflowOS has AI help throughout. It drafts and explains; you review and decide. Nothing it suggests runs until you save and activate it. The AI runs on Atlassian's own AI service, inside Atlassian.

Describe a rule and let AI build it

  1. Start a ruleOpen Rules and choose New rule.
  2. Describe itIn Describe your rule, let AI build it, write what should happen, for example: "When a Bug is created with no assignee, assign it to the reporter and add a needs-triage label". Choose Generate.
  3. ReviewAI fills in the trigger, conditions and actions below. Check every part and change anything that is not right.
  4. Test, then saveSave it as a draft, dry run it on a test issue, and activate it only when the result is right.
Describe the rule, then choose Generate.

From an issue, the ••• menu's Create rule with Laya WorkflowOS does the same for that issue's project and saves the result as a draft.

Convert ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira rules

Under Switching from ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira?, choose Paste a script, paste a ScriptRunner Groovy listener or post function, or an exported Automation for Jira rule, and choose Convert to a Laya rule. AI maps it to a no-code rule and the expression language. Conversion notes list anything it could not convert, rather than inventing it.

Explain rules and failures

  • Explain with AI on a rule describes, in plain words, what the rule does.
  • In Activity, a failed run can be explained: AI reads the error and the failed steps and suggests what to fix.
  • In Insights, the AI conflict scan looks for rules that may clash, such as two rules setting the same field.
  • In Templates, AI can find the template that matches what you describe.

Write JQL in plain English

In Search & Automate and Advanced Export, describe what you want, for example "open bugs in ABC assigned to me, oldest first", and AI writes the JQL. Review it before you run it. If a query you typed is not valid, the app says That query isn't valid and offers a fix under Did you mean:.

AI summaries on reports

A report can start with an executive summary that AI writes from the report's figures. In Advanced Export, the AI exec-summary on chip is on by default for reports: choose it to turn it off.

Your monthly AI allowance

  • AI use is counted per site, each month, in tokens. Settings shows the meter under AI usage & limits.
  • The allowance is 500,000 tokens a month on Standard and 3,000,000 on Advanced.
  • A Jira admin can set a lower monthly cap with Set lower cap, but never a higher one than the edition allows.
  • When the allowance runs out, AI features stop until the next month, and everything else keeps working.
