How much does Laya WorkflowOS cost?
It is a paid app, billed through Atlassian per user, with Atlassian's free trial first. Sites with up to 10 users pay nothing. See the Marketplace listing for current prices.
Who can create rules?
By default, only Jira admins. On the Advanced edition, an admin can add editor groups so their members can manage rules too. Everyone can use Search & Automate.
Do rules use my Jira Automation limits?
No. Rules run on the app's own Forge compute, not in Jira Automation.
Whose name appears on changes a rule makes?
The app's. Rules make their changes in Jira as the app, not as the person who built the rule.
Can one rule set off another, or itself, in a loop?
No. Changes the app makes do not trigger rules again.
How quickly do rules run?
Rules that react to issue events usually run within a couple of minutes. Scheduled rules are checked every five minutes. Test runs a rule straight away.
Does it use AI, and where does my data go?
Its AI helps with drafting rules, writing JQL, explanations and report summaries, through Atlassian's own AI service. Nothing is sent outside Atlassian. The trust page has the detail.
Can a Jira admin turn AI off?
A Jira admin can turn AI assist off for the whole site in the app’s admin settings. While it is off, the app refuses every AI request, including AI summaries on reports. See AI assist.
Can it hide a workflow transition?
No. It adds a validator, which blocks a transition with your message, and a post function. It does not add a workflow condition.
Can I move my ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira rules?
Paste them into Convert to a Laya rule in the rule builder. AI converts what it can and lists what it could not. Review and test the result before you activate it.
Can I copy rules to another site?
Yes. In Settings, Backup & migration, export your rules as JSON and import them on the other site. They arrive as drafts.
How many issues can an export or report include?
Up to 5,000. A scheduled rule handles 50 issues per run by default, which an admin can raise to 1,000 on Advanced.
What does "Advanced only" mean?
That section needs the Advanced edition. On Standard you can see it but not change it. Settings, About shows your edition.
What happens when I uninstall the app?
The app deletes everything it stored for the site: rules, logs, settings, shared sequences, saved searches and exports. Export your rules first if you might reinstall.
