Laya WorkflowOS overview
What Laya WorkflowOS does for Jira Cloud: no-code automation rules, workflow validators and post functions, safe expressions, advanced search, exports and reports.
Last updated
Laya WorkflowOS is a Jira Cloud app from Agile Pulse that brings workflow automation, advanced search and reporting into one place. You build rules without code, add them to your Jira workflows as validators and post functions, search Jira in plain English or JQL, and turn the results into exports and stakeholder reports. It is on the Atlassian Marketplace as "Laya WorkflowOS: AI Automation for Jira".
What it does
| Area | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Automation rules | Build rules from a trigger, conditions and actions, without code. Start from a template, or describe the rule in plain English and let AI draft it. |
| Workflow validators and post functions | Block a Jira transition unless a rule's conditions are met, or run a rule's actions when a transition happens. |
| Laya expressions | Add calculations and if/then logic to conditions and action text, with a safe built-in formula language. No Groovy and no code runs. |
| Search and exports | Search with JQL or plain English, pick your columns, save searches, and export the results to Excel, CSV, JSON, Markdown or Word. |
| Reports | Turn any JQL into one of 19 reports, including an all-in-one Master report, as PDF or HTML, with an optional AI summary. |
| Governance | An emergency stop for all automation, plus approvals, editor groups, limits, maintenance windows, blocked actions and an audit trail. |
Who it is for
- Jira administrators who want governed automation, validators and post functions without scripting.
- Project leads, Scrum Masters and delivery managers who need repeatable exports and stakeholder reports.
- Operations teams who automate triage, escalation and checks for stale or overdue work.
- Governance and IT teams who need to control who can automate, pause everything in an emergency and review changes.

Laya WorkflowOS is a paid app, billed through Atlassian per user. On the Marketplace, sites with up to 10 users pay nothing. Atlassian's free trial applies before you pay.
The app knows two editions, Standard and Advanced. Both have the same everyday features: every trigger and action, shared actions, expressions, templates, search, exports, reports and AI help. Advanced adds a larger monthly AI allowance and the governance controls. The app shows your edition in Settings, under About, and marks the sections that need Advanced with Advanced only.
