Sign-in methods
Every way into your Laya account: email and password, magic links, and social sign-in with Atlassian, Azure DevOps, Google, Microsoft or Slack.

One Laya account can have several ways in: email and password, emailed magic links, and social sign-in. You can mix them freely — for example, sign up with Google and later set a password.
Email and password
On the sign-up page, choose "or with email", enter your Full name, Email and Password, then select Create account. Passwords must be at least 12 characters — Laya enforces this on the server.
Signing in is stepped: enter your email first, then either continue to the Password step or choose Email me a magic link instead.
Magic links
A magic link signs you in without a password: Laya emails a single-use link to your address, and opening it proves you own the inbox. Links expire after 10 minutes, so use them soon after they arrive.
Magic links also double as password recovery — there is no separate reset flow. Forgot password? on the password step simply sends a magic link; once you are signed in again, set a new password from the Security page (Change password, or Set password if you never had one).
Social sign-in
Laya offers five social sign-in providers: Atlassian, Azure DevOps, Google, Microsoft and Slack. Signing in with any of them creates a Laya account automatically if you do not have one yet, and Laya sends a welcome email listing every way back in — the provider button, an emailed link, or setting a password in Settings.
Linked identities
Manage the identities attached to your account on the Connected apps page (account menu, top right), under Sign-in identities. GitHub, Google and Microsoft each offer a Connect button; Atlassian is shown once it is already linked, marked "Used for sign-in & Jira".
GitHub here is account linking only — it is not one of the sign-in buttons.
I signed up with a social provider. Can I add a password later?
Yes. Open Security from your account menu — the Password card shows Set password for accounts that have none. New passwords must be at least 12 characters.
Does two-factor authentication apply to social sign-in?
Yes. Once 2FA is on, every route in asks for a second factor — password, magic link, and every "continue with" button. See Two-factor authentication.
