Quick answers to the questions people ask most about Laya Export Studio. For step-by-step fixes, see troubleshooting.
How much does it cost?
It is a paid app, billed through Atlassian per user, with Atlassian's free trial first. Sites with up to 10 users pay nothing. See the Marketplace listing for current prices.
Do I need Confluence?
No. Jira is required and Confluence is optional. Without Confluence you can still export Jira issues; page exports, imports and PDF tools need Confluence.
Does my content leave Atlassian?
No. The app carries Atlassian's Runs on Atlassian badge: files are made on Atlassian's platform, and AI help uses Atlassian's own AI service. The trust page has the detail.
Can someone export pages or issues they cannot see?
No. The app checks access as the person exporting, so pages and issues they cannot read are left out.
Can I download an export again later?
In Confluence, download it before you close the exporter: there is no list of past exports, so export again if you need it. In Jira, Activity lists your last 50 exports, and Download there runs the export again.
Are brand kits shared between Jira and Confluence?
No. Each product keeps its own kits, and Jira uses only its own site-wide kits.
Can I export only the text I selected?
Not yet. Export selection (Laya Export Studio) exports the whole page today.
Can I choose which Jira fields go into an export?
No. Each format has a set layout. Documents hold each issue's details, description and comments; spreadsheets and JSON add sub-tasks and links.
Can I schedule exports?
Not today. Exports run when you start them.
Can a Jira admin turn AI off?
Yes. AI assist on the admin page turns it off for everyone, and the app then makes no AI calls.
