Notifications and email digests

Choose which events reach you in the Inbox and by email — and why email arrives as an hourly or daily digest rather than instantly.

On this page

Laya notifies you in two places: in-app, in your Inbox, and by email digest. Both are controlled from one page — Notifications, under the Account section of the sidebar or your account chip menu.

The Notifications page

The Notifications page ("Choose what reaches you, and where.") is a matrix with four columns — Event, In-app, Email and Frequency — across seven event types:

  • Mentions
  • Assigned to me
  • Status changes
  • Comments
  • Due soon
  • Due today
  • Overdue

The page's footer spells out where each channel lands: "Emails go to <your address>. In-app notifications appear in your Inbox. Hourly/daily frequencies are batched into a single digest."

In-app delivery

In-app notifications appear in your Inbox — the full-page /inbox with its seven lanes, and the topbar bell, whose badge updates live as notifications arrive. See Navigation and the shell for a tour of the lanes and the bell popover.

Email is a digest, not instant

Email delivery is batched: notifications with an hourly or daily frequency are collected into a single digest per cadence. Turning the Email toggle on for an event sets its frequency to Hourly — instant email delivery is not part of how digests are sent.

Not getting email?

Before reporting missing notification email, check these in order:

  1. On the Notifications page, confirm the Email toggle is on for the event type and read its Frequency column — an Hourly or Daily digest means the email can lag the event by up to that cadence, by design.
  2. Check your spam or junk folder for the digest.
  3. Confirm the address itself: the footer notes "Emails go to <your address>" — your sign-in email, shown with a Verified/Unverified pill on your Profile page.
