An AI hint gives the team a starting point for the discussion. It never replaces the team’s vote: use it as a guide.
Turn AI hints on for a session
- When you create a session, turn on Enable AI Features.
- To have a hint appear by itself each time an issue is picked, also turn on Auto-trigger AI response on issue selection. On the free app this is not included, and moderators ask for hints themselves.
- If a Jira admin turned AI off for the site, Create Session shows AI Estimation Disabled instead.
Ask for a hint
During estimation, a moderator chooses Show Hint. Only moderators can ask for a hint.
A hint shows the issue’s complexity level, a short summary, key considerations, a recommended estimate range and notes.
