Start a whiteboard retro
- New retro: choose Visual whiteboard when you create it.
- Classic retro: a moderator clicks Start whiteboard in the top bar. The columns and cards you already have are kept.
Visual templates
In Choose a visual template, pick a layout such as Sailboat, Speedboat, Mountain Climber, Sprint Timeline, 5-Whys, Team Radar, Risk Storming, Kudos Wall or Quick Retro (4-Box). The template is a backdrop: you place notes anywhere on top. If you swap templates later, SprintRetro asks first and keeps everything you added.
On the canvas
- Add sticky notes, text, shapes, frames, tables, connectors and pen drawings from the toolbar.
- Add images, GIFs and kudos cards, and type @ to mention a teammate.
- Vote on notes. Whiteboard votes are counted separately from column votes.
- Use private mode to hide notes until the team reveals them.
- Right-click an object to duplicate, copy, lock, reorder or delete it, or choose Convert to Jira.
- Everyone sees changes and cursors live.
Import from Miro or Mural
A moderator clicks Imports to open Import a whiteboard, connects a Miro or Mural account, picks a board and clicks Import board.
Export the board
A moderator opens Export canvas and chooses PNG image or PDF (print). The export runs in your browser.
Email support@laya.net and include what you expected, what happened, and a link to the affected board or item so we can help quickly.
