The Members tab in workspace Settings is where you manage the people in a workspace: search, change roles, remove members, revoke pending invitations and — for the Owner — transfer ownership.

Finding your way around the Members tab

  • Search members by name, @handle or email, and narrow the list with the All roles filter.
  • Each row has a role dropdown to change that person's role. The dropdown never offers Owner — ownership moves only via transfer.
  • The row's ⋯ menu holds "↑ Make owner" (Owner only) and "✕ Remove from workspace".
  • A Pending invitations card lists outstanding invites with a Revoke action.
  • A Seats card shows the member count and "Seat limit: Unlimited during early access".

Remove a member

Choose "✕ Remove from workspace" from the member's ⋯ menu. Laya confirms with: "They lose access to this workspace. You can re-invite them later." Removal is about access — the person can no longer open the workspace, and you can invite them back at any time.

Transfer ownership

  1. Open the member's ⋯ menuOn Settings → Members, find the person you want to hand the workspace to.
  2. Choose "↑ Make owner"This option is visible to the current Owner only.
  3. ConfirmThe confirmation reads: "They become the workspace owner; you become a maintainer. This can be reversed by the new owner."

After the transfer you keep full Admin capabilities; only the owner-only set (delete workspace, audit log, access tokens, the Permissions tab and further transfers) moves to the new Owner. The transfer is recorded in the audit log.

Deactivated accounts and members' work

  • A person can deactivate their own account from their Profile page. The product's own wording: "You'll be signed out everywhere and your account will be hidden. Your data is kept and a workspace admin can restore it." Deactivation is not deletion.
  • If an account is deleted (a privacy request, distinct from deactivation), there is a 30-day recovery window; after that the account is anonymised in place — the display name becomes "Former user" — so work items and comments they authored keep a stable anonymous author rather than disappearing.
