Views, filters and grouping

Switch between Board, Table, Calendar and Timeline, then filter, sort and group the same work to answer different questions.

A board is one set of work with many ways to look at it. The view tabs change the layout; filters narrow what you see; grouping splits it into swimlanes; and a whole arrangement can be saved and reused.

The four layouts

The tabs above the board switch between Board, Table, Calendar and Timeline. The same strip also carries Backlog and Epics entries that open the board's planning pages. The active layout travels in the board's URL, so a link you copy opens for others exactly as you see it.

Filters and search

The filter bar narrows the board along five dimensions — priority, assignee, tag, sprint and epic — plus a free-text box with the placeholder “Search title or ID…”. Press / to focus the filter input from the keyboard. Filters apply across whichever layout is active.

Grouping into swimlanes

The grouping picker offers None, Source board, Epic, Assignee, Priority and Sprint. Your chosen grouping is remembered per board in your browser, and lane order and collapsed state are remembered per person too — so your arrangement survives between visits without affecting anyone else.

Sorting

The board's control bar includes a sort field and direction. By default, boards sort by last modified, descending — the most recently touched work floats to the top. Sorting is captured alongside filters when you save a view.

Saving an arrangement

When you have a combination worth keeping, open the board's Views picker and choose Save current view…. A saved view captures the complete control-bar state in one object: filters (statuses, priority, assignees, tags, issue type, sprint, epic and text query), the grouping, the sort field and direction, and the layout itself. The same menu offers Reset filters / view and Manage views….

Saved views get their own workspace page where you can pin them to the sidebar — see Saved views and Insights.
