Brand kits and templates
Create brand kits with your logo, colour, footer, watermark and cover, and save export presets as templates.

A brand kit puts your look on exports. Create kits in Confluence under Apps, Laya Export Studio, Brand Kits & Templates, in Jira under Brand Kits, or from the exporter with Save as new brand kit.
Create a brand kit
- Start a kitChoose New brand kit and give it a Name.
- Add your lookUpload a Logo (PNG or JPEG, up to 1.5 MB; it shows on the cover), and set the Primary colour and Footer text.
- Choose the extrasTick Watermark and type its text, Cover page and Page numbers as you need. In Jira, the field is Watermark text.
- SaveChoose Save brand kit.
Where a kit applies
- A kit belongs to the whole site or to one Confluence space. Kits made in Confluence Home are site-wide; a kit saved from a page's exporter belongs to that page's space.
- Each scope can have one default kit, which the exporter picks for you. Setting a default needs a space admin for a space kit, or a site admin for a site-wide kit.
- Jira and Confluence keep separate brand kits, and Jira uses only its own site-wide kits.
- When you export, the kit's settings are frozen into that export, so editing the kit later never changes a file you already made.
- The person who made a kit, or an admin, can change it.
Templates
A template is a saved export preset: layout settings such as the cover, table of contents and orientation, and a brand kit. The exporter offers built-in layouts, such as Documentation and Article, and the templates your team saves. Make and star templates in the exporter: New template, Save template, and Manage templates & brand kits.
Tips
- Give kits clear names, and make one default company kit.
- Keep footer text short, so pages stay uncluttered.
- Use watermarks for confidential documents, but check that the text stays readable.
- Test each new kit with a short PDF before you use it for a big pack.
- Branding applies to PDF and Word. Markdown bundles and AI knowledge packs carry no branding.
