Install

A Jira admin installs Planning Poker Agility from the Atlassian Marketplace, or by searching for it under Apps in Jira’s settings. It is free and needs no configuration: there is no admin page and no site-wide setting. After installing, Jira’s Apps menu opens the app’s Get Started page.

Who can use it

  • Everyone who can open a Jira Software project can open the app there, create sessions and join public sessions.
  • The app works with each person’s own Jira access: it lists only the issues they can see, and saving an estimate needs permission to edit the issue.
  • Jira admins have no extra rights inside the app. A private session opens only for the people added to it, and only the person who created a session, or its moderator, can edit or delete it.

Jira settings the app relies on

  • Browse users and groups: the moderator, participant and observer pickers search Jira’s users, so the groups your team belongs to, and the app’s own group atlassian-addons-admin, need this global permission. See No users in the dropdown.
  • The estimation field: the field must be available for the issue types you estimate and on their screens. See Set up the estimation field.
  • The Sub-task issue type: company-managed projects need Jira’s standard Sub-task issue type. See The Sub-task error.
  • The board’s filter: sessions load issues through the board, so its filter must be valid. See No issues load.

The usage report

On All sessions, the Team insight banner has a View usage report button. The Usage report shows totals for your whole Jira site: Total sessions, Unique users, Participant attendances, Issues loaded, Completed estimations, Avg. users per session, Avg. session duration, Sessions this month and Most active month, with a chart of the Last 12 months. It holds counts only, with no names and no session contents, and anyone on the site can open it.

Ready or Not scans

Ready or Not, on the All sessions page, uses AI to check how ready backlog issues are for estimation. Each Jira site has 10 scans each calendar month (counted in UTC), shared by everyone on the site. The page shows how many of this month’s scans are used. Estimation sessions are not affected by this allowance.

Uninstall

A Jira admin uninstalls the app from Apps, Manage apps in Jira’s settings. Estimates already saved stay in your Jira issues, because they live in Jira’s own fields. How we handle the app’s data is in the Agile Pulse apps privacy policy.
