Planning Poker Agility overview
Planning Poker Agility is free planning poker inside Jira: estimate your issues together in a live session and save the result to Jira.
Last updated
Planning Poker Agility is a free planning poker app for Jira Cloud, from Agile Pulse on the Atlassian Marketplace. Your team estimates real Jira issues together in a live session, and the moderator saves the agreed estimate to the issue in Jira.
Who it is for
- Scrum and Kanban teams that size their work in refinement or sprint planning.
- Teams that estimate together at the same time, in one room or remotely.
- Teams that want a free tool with no setup: the app works as soon as it is installed.
What it does
- Live sessions with one moderator, participants who vote and observers who watch. See Run a session.
- Public or private sessions: anyone who can open the project can join a public session. A private session is only for the people you add.
- Card decks: Standard Fibonacci, Time estimates, or your own values.
- Your Jira issues: pick issues from the board’s backlog and sprints, filter them by name or with JQL, include sub-tasks if you want, and see each issue’s details beside the cards.
- Results: a chart of the votes and the average, then the moderator saves the final estimate to the estimation field in Jira, such as Story Points or Original estimate.
- Reference issues: the moderator can pin up to three past issues to compare against.
- Timers: up to two countdown timers for each session.
- Ready or Not: an AI check of how ready your backlog issues are before you estimate them.
Where it is in Jira
- In a project, new Jira navigation: open the project’s board, choose More (•••) at the top right and pick Planning Poker Agility.
- In a project, older Jira navigation: Planning Poker Agility in the project sidebar.
- Apps menu: Planning Poker Agility opens its Get Started page.
Sessions belong to a project and its board, so open the app from a project to run them. See Get started.
Price
Planning Poker Agility is free for everyone on your Jira site, with no cap on users or sessions. Ready or Not has a monthly allowance of 10 scans for each Jira site, shared by everyone on the site (see Planning Poker Agility for Jira admins).
