Run a retro session

Add cards

Click Add Item in a column and type your thought. On a card you can add a comment, a GIF, an emoji reaction or a kudos card (Achievement, Teamwork, Innovation or Support). Tick Post as Anonymous User to post a card without your name.

Vote

Each person has a set number of votes. Put them all on one card or spread them out. Use the filter and choose Most Votes to sort the board by votes.

Group cards

Drag one card onto another to make a group. You can rename the group and drag more cards into it. In the free app a group holds up to 2 cards, and each person can make up to 2 groups in a retro. SprintRetro Pro has no grouping limit.

Polls

Moderators start polls from the polls panel. Pick a question from Default Polls or Previous Polls. With SprintRetro Pro you can also write your own; they are saved under Custom Polls to reuse.

Moderator tools

• Timer: a countdown everyone sees, to keep each phase on time.
• Hidden / Visible: hide cards so each person sees only their own until you switch back to visible.
• Icebreaker: a warm-up question that pops up for everyone.
• Settings: rename the retro, change the linked sprint, set the vote limit and switch between public and private.

Close the retro

When you finish, a moderator clicks Close session in the top bar, or Close Session in the retro’s settings. A closed retro is locked, and its open actions can carry forward into your next retro. A moderator can choose Reopen Session to open it again.
