SprintRetro FAQ
Short answers to common questions about SprintRetro, its free app and SprintRetro Pro.
Last updated
Why can’t I see my board in the dropdown, or why aren’t sprints or users loading?
Usually the app does not have access to the board’s filter or project in Jira. A Jira administrator can fix it: see Troubleshooting.
Is SprintRetro free?
There is a free app, SprintRetro: Free Retrospective & Metrics Suite, and a paid one, SprintRetro Pro. See the differences.
Is there a limit on retros or participants?
Not today. Neither app limits how many retros you run or how many people join one.
How many cards can I group?
In the free app, up to 2 cards in a group and up to 2 groups per person in a retro. SprintRetro Pro has no limit.
Do I have to link a Jira sprint?
No. Without a sprint you get a simple retro board with no metrics panel.
Can I change the template after the retro starts?
Not on a classic retro: create a new retro instead. On a whiteboard you can swap the visual template and keep your notes.
What happens to open actions when the retro ends?
Close the retro, then carry its open actions into your next retro. Closed (done) actions are not carried.
Does SprintRetro use AI, and what data does it send?
Four features use AI: the sprint summary (Pro), the Sprint Replay narrative, action quality scoring and the AI Facilitator. Each runs only when someone asks. For what is sent and kept, see SprintRetro trust.
Can we turn the AI features off?
A Jira admin can turn AI off for the whole site: on the SprintRetro Dashboard, choose AI settings and switch AI off. Our servers then refuse every new AI request from that site. Each feature also runs only when someone clicks it, and the Facilitator tab is for moderators. See SprintRetro trust.
Is there a version for Azure DevOps?
Yes, SprintRetro for Azure DevOps. These guides cover the Jira app.
