A workspace is where your boards, docs, roadmap and members live. There are two kinds — Personal (private to you) and Team (invitable) — and the kind is fixed when the workspace is created.
Your personal workspace
Every new account automatically gets a Personal workspace named after you, so you can start working immediately. Personal workspaces are private: only you can access them and invites are disabled. If you want to work with others, create a Team workspace — a Personal workspace cannot be converted into one.
Create a team workspace
Open the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar and choose Create a workspace. The Create a workspace page walks you through naming it, picking an accent colour and choosing a starting board, then lands you in the new workspace — ready to invite people or build your first board. The full walkthrough lives in Create and switch workspaces.
Join a team workspace
By invitation
When someone invites you by email, the invite link takes you to an acceptance page (signing you in first if needed) that confirms You're in. with an Open the workspace button. Invitations expire after 14 days.
If the email never arrives, you can still claim the invitation in-app: open invitations addressed to your sign-in email appear in the workspace switcher under Invitations, each with an inline Accept button.
By signing in with your team's tool
The sign-up page's Join your team's workspace tier (Atlassian and Azure DevOps) is the fastest route when your team's work already lives in one of those tools — the same grant that signs you in can also set up sync. See Create your account.
Switching between workspaces
The workspace switcher in the sidebar groups everything under Invitations, Personal and Team workspaces, with Create a workspace at the bottom. Laya remembers your last-focused workspace, so the sidebar stays put while you visit personal pages like Home and Inbox.
