The board quietly refreshes every 30 seconds while the tab is visible and refetches when you come back to it, so what you see stays current without a manual reload.
Plan sprints where you work
The board's Manage menu includes a sprint planner to start, complete and plan sprints on sprint-capable Jira boards, plus versions & components and visible custom fields.
You'll find it all over Jira, too: a Laya Board entry in the project sidebar, a boards hub in the apps navigation, Open in Laya Board actions on issues, boards, backlogs and sprints, and a command-palette shortcut.
Link a Laya workspace to unlock streaming sync
The board is the whole product on its own. Linking is a one-time pairing: the app shows a connection code, you approve it at Laya.net within 15 minutes, and the two sides are bridged. No issue data leaves Jira as part of connecting — and everything in this section needs that linked Laya workspace.
Jira changes stream into Laya
Sync is event-driven, not polled — a change in Jira normally lands in your Laya workspace within seconds. Edits made in Laya flow back to Jira through the app's write-back bridge, fenced by a per-project allowlist your admin controls.
Master boards and more, inside Jira
With a linked Laya workspace, the full build unlocks external boards from Azure DevOps, monday.com, GitHub and GitLab, native Laya boards, master boards that layer up to 50 boards into one view with swim lanes per source, and an organisation roadmap — all without leaving Jira.
Share a board with anyone
With a linked workspace, guest-link sharing via Laya.net gives stakeholders a read-only view of a board — anyone with the link can view it, no Jira seat or Laya account required, and you can switch sharing off at any time.

A Jira site administrator installs Laya Board for Jira from the Atlassian Marketplace, consenting to the app's Jira scopes and its Laya.net-only egress in one step.

Open a project
Select Laya Board in any project's sidebar and the board is ready — reading and writing Jira as you, with your existing Jira permissions.

Connect Laya.net
Approve a short-lived connection code at Laya.net to link the site to a Laya workspace and unlock streaming sync, external boards, master boards and sharing.
The honest small print
- Each Jira site links to exactly one Laya workspace per install — the app tells you clearly if a site is already bound elsewhere.
- Edits made in Laya and written back to Jira are applied by the app, so Jira's history shows the Laya Board app as the actor rather than the individual person.
- Saved views and some display preferences are stored in your browser, per board — they don't follow you between devices.
- A Jira project mirrored as an external board is read-only inside the app — those edits happen on the Jira board itself.
- Some releases ship as a streamlined build with only the core Jira board — master boards, external provider boards and guest sharing are part of the full build with a linked Laya workspace. The user guide explains how to tell which build your site is running.
