Estimate together, in real time.

SprintPoker is planning poker for teams. Everyone picks a card in secret, the cards flip together into the results, and you agree on a number. Guests join with just a name.

  • On its own
  • With a Laya board
  • With Jira

Free on Laya’s free plan, with the same core limits as SprintPoker for Jira. Team and Business plans remove those limits and include every Agile Pulse app on Laya.net (SprintPoker, and SprintRetro when it launches).

Already host sessions on Laya.net? Open SprintPoker

A simulated SprintPoker room estimating PAY-231, Retry failed card payments with exponential backoff. Five people vote in secret; Elena's card, 5, is lit, and Matching Issues lists completed issues estimated as 5. The cards then flip into the results: Average 5, Mode 5, four votes for 5 and one for 8.

The whole link your host sent. An invite code that starts with lpi_ works too.

How it works

Three steps, one link

  1. Add what you want to estimate

Type a list, or pick cards from a Laya board or issues from Jira. Put them in the order you want.

  2. Share one link

People open it in any browser, on any device. Members of your workspace join as themselves; with Guest access on, everyone else types a name.

  3. Vote, reveal, agree

Cards stay hidden until the reveal. Then everyone sees the average, the most common vote and how the votes spread, and a moderator saves the final estimate with Save & Next.

Your work, from where it lives

Three ways to bring work into a session

Typed-in items

No board and no setup. Type or paste a list and start voting.

Results stay in the session. Typed-in items never become cards on their own.

A Laya board

Pick cards from a board in your workspace, then jump back to the board from the session.

The final estimate is saved to the card's Estimate.

Jira issues

Pick issues from a Jira board through your workspace's Jira connection in Laya.net. SprintPoker reads the estimation field from the board's own settings.

Estimates are saved with the saving person's own Jira permissions. If they can't edit an issue, the result stays in the session.

Ready or Not

Know which issues are ready

Before you estimate

Scan a sprint or backlog from a Laya board or a Jira project. AI grades whether each issue is clear enough to estimate, and its fields are checked against your Definition of Ready.

  • AI clarity: Estimate-ready, Needs detail, Too vague
  • Definition of Ready: 3/4 met

When the last estimate is saved

All Issues Estimated shows the moderator which issues meet your Definition of Ready and which are missing a required field. This check uses no AI.

Privacy

Hidden until the reveal. Shared only on purpose.

Votes stay hidden until the reveal

Not just covered up on screen: other people's votes are not sent to your browser until the cards are revealed. Hosts and moderators don't get a peek either.

Guests see only what the host shares

Each item's key and title. Its description, comments, assignee and reporter only if the host shares them and Laya.net can read them for guests. Never attachments outside a description, email addresses or the board itself.

A guest is in one session, nothing else

Guests are not members of your workspace and can't open your boards. Turn guest access off and they lose access at once.

From the team behind SprintPoker for Jira

Plays with SprintPoker for Jira

Your Jira app keeps working as it does today. A session can also be available in both apps: people in Jira and people on Laya.net estimate the same round, with the same decks, and everyone sees the same results.

Get SprintPoker for Jira on the Atlassian Marketplace

The same round in two apps: SprintPoker for Jira on the left and SprintPoker on Laya.net on the right, both showing PAY-231 revealed with Average 5 and Mode 5, and the same five voters.
  • The same issue, votes and results in both apps
  • Votes stay hidden until the reveal, in both
  • People without Jira join on Laya.net with a link

Questions

Do guests need an account?

No. A guest types a name and joins that one session. Guests are not members of your workspace and can’t see anything else in Laya.net. A guest who signs in later in the same browser can keep their seat with their account.

What can guests see?

Each item’s key and title. Its description, comments, assignee and reporter only if the host shares them and Laya.net can read them for guests. A Jira issue’s comments, assignee and reporter come through the Jira site’s connection to Laya.net. Other issues on the board appear only as Reference Issues and Matching Issues, by key and title. Never attachments outside a description, email addresses or the board itself.

Does SprintPoker write to Jira?

Only when a moderator saves a final estimate, with that person’s own Jira permissions, into the field the Jira board uses for estimation. Just before saving, SprintPoker reads the issue again; if its estimate changed in Jira since the vote, you choose what to keep. If the save isn’t possible, the result stays in the session. Typed-in items never become Jira issues on their own.

Which decks can we use?

Fibonacci (0–89), Fibonacci (1–89), Linear (1–10), Hours (1–40), Small Fibonacci (0.5–13) and T-shirt sizes, or the effort scale of the Laya board you’re estimating. Every deck ends with a ? card for “not sure”: it counts as a vote, but never toward the average.

Can people vote on their own time?

Yes. Choose Async Poker when you create a session: everyone votes when it suits them, and the votes stay hidden until a moderator finishes voting. The due date helps everyone stay on track and locks nothing.
